...reflected in their modest petals...

"i prefer by far the warmth and softness
 to mere brilliancy and coldness.
some people remind me of sharp dazzling diamonds.
valuable but lifeless and loveless.
others, of the simplest field flowers,
with hearts full of dew and with all the tints of celestial beauty
 reflected in their modest petals."

sunshine.
sunShine.
Sunshine.
yeah.
i've got nothing.
snow flurries.
bitter cold.
yeah.
those i have.
but i also have
where sun and shadows abound.
head over.
here's to the images of a sunny day.
in my mind.
just BE.

The shadowy snow has a blue and cold shadow. Yet the yucca plant leaves look too frail to survive the frigid onslaught. Yet they are tougher than the shadows while looking delicate...

The lacy shadow inside looks far warmer though!

Oh, it does look so cold! Beautiful but cold! I do love the pattern in the second one! Delightful shadow shot and the perfect words as always, Robin! Hope you have a lovely weekend! Stay warm and enjoy!

Our snow has gone for the moment - but it is still cold! I love the sparkle on the snow in your first shadow shot.

OMG girl...one of my new fragrances for spring will be named Anais...I love her works, as well as Henry Miller, her lover...I love the romance of these writers and think it will give a different outlook to the scents I'm creating...it's all about the romance, with it the ugly and wretched in life still have a life, you just have to see it with different eyes.

Sometimes I'm just amazed at the synchronicity of our thoughts Robin!!!

Hey Tilda, wearing any holes in them woollies yet...I hate to walk across my porch it sounds like an ice-jam breaking free...ahhh winter...argh! No sun in Ioway today...

PS...I thought I sent this to you this morning, however here it is still on my screen as I come home from work...it's a blond thing I'm sure!!!

Spikes and crispy snow, in my mind these shouldn't be soothing, but they are.

Oh those poor little plant popsicles covered in snow. I'm amazed that the greenery manages to survive such extreme temps! That second photo is so soft and lovely. It has a warmth to it compared to the top photo. Enjoy your week Robin and my fingers are crossed for some sunshine for you :)

The second shadow is so warm while the first is so cold. Beautiful contrast.
